Fragrant Summer Courtyard

This newly converted barn opened onto a generously proportioned paved courtyard, but lacked the idyllic seclusion and informal cottage planting our client had left behind at their previous home.

The oak framed structure of the barn is now extended through an oak pergola that links the inside to the out. Scented clematis drip from the supports creating a magical seating area that offers dappled shade in this south facing garden.

A traditional planting combination of lavender and roses are a powerful draw for the butterflies and bees whilst hardy geraniums tumble over the flint-stoned walls.
