Situated on the very edge of Chichester’s historic City Centre, this garden is a haven for the senses. Handbuilt by Mark and his team, the double water feature with trickling waterfall and running rill brings a sense of calm and seclusion from the city. A series of circular shapes link the lawn, pond, waterfall and turntable deck, drawing the eye round the garden and creating different levels and zones within the space. The planting palette of white, purple and tonal greens creates a restful effect, with varied seasonal planting bringing freshness to the borders throughout the year.
Inspired by the city’s Roman origins, Mark reimagined a peristyle garden by creating routes that flow round the edges of the space, incorporating terraced levels and running water. His unique response to this site has created a garden that feels both rooted in local history and perfectly suited to a modern Chichester lifestyle.
